Barnard Castle

Bowes Museum
The awe inspiring Bowes Museum was designed and purpose built, (French chateau style) as a public art gallery & museum by the French architect Jules Pellechet and opened in 1892.

Teesdale and High Force
Situated on the Upper Teesdale Raby Estate, near Middleton-in-Teesdale, this is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in England.

Beamish Museum
Beamish is a world famous open air museum telling the story of the people of North East England at two important points in history 1825 and 1913. It stands in 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside, 8 miles south west of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Hadrian’s Wall
Designated as a world heritage site in 1987, Hadrian’S Wall ranks alongside the Taj Mahal and other great wonders of the world.

Lake District
England’s largest National Park includes Scafell Pike – its highest mountain, Wastwater – its deepest lake and vibrant communities like Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere. (Approx a 1 to 2 hour drive from Wodencroft)
